Kennesaw State University (KSU), Siegel Institute for Leadership, Ethics & Character (SILEC), and KSU President Emeritus, Dr. Betty Siegel.
Karen Pressley has provided writing and desktop publishing services to the Siegel Institute at Kennesaw State University as a KSU employee or freelance contractor since 2006. As a communication specialist, she authored the Institute's website in 2007 and 2009. She producesd promotional materials for academic services and special events, and wrote and edited public relations and business materials including executive communications such as correspondence, presentations, speeches, monographs, and biographies.
While serving as Director of Siegel Institute Relations (2007-08), she worked to bridge relationships between SILEC and the Atlanta-area community, especially in women's leadership development. Karen provided communications planning and implementation to develop these relationships. She also established a public relations student internship program in which she supervised KSU students who assisted with PR and marketing functions.
KSU President Emeritus, Dr. Betty Siegel, has utilized Karen's writing services for executive correspondence. In 2007, Karen served as a Siegel Institute representative in the KSU team that attended Dr. Siegel's signature event, The Oxford Conclave on Global Ethics, in Sundance, Utah. Karen also served on the Conclave writing team with representatives from six other universities.
Kennesaw State University has published various news or feature stories and press releases written by Karen for the KSU Access, KSU Newsroom, and the student newspaper, The Sentinel.
While Karen pursued her Master of Arts in Professional Writing degree at KSU, she served as a Graduate Research Assistant to the Siegel Institute's Interim Executive Director, Dr. Dorothy Zinsmeister, during fall 2009.
